  • Italy is populated by more than 58,000,000 people in an area (301,230 square kilometers) slightly larger than the U.S. state of Arizona.

  • In addition to its capital in Rome, other major Italy cities & tourist hubs include Naples, Florence, Pisa, Venice, Siena, and Milan, as well as the island of Sicily and the Italian Riviera.

  • Italy's climate is typically Mediterranean, although with colder temperatures to the north, and hotter and drier weather to the south.

  • Generally, the best time to travel to Italy is late April to July, with almost the entire month of August given over to summer holidays & vacations by most Italians. In most areas of Italy the rainy season (accompanied by chillier temperatures) usually extends from late October to March.

  • Time Zone : CET (UTC+1) - Italy is 1 hour ahead of London, 6 hours ahead of the U.S. East Coast, and 9 hours ahead of the U.S. West Coast.
