Galleria Virtual Tour
While
visiting the Galleria, ensure
your good fortune by following an old
Milan tradition - stomping the bull's
testicles! (For best results, insert
your heel into the well-worn spot &
spin completely around three times.

At
Milan's shopping mecca, the Galleria Vittorio
Emanuele II, you'll find some
of the city's most exclusive
shops, boutiques and restaurants.
These
include such famous designer names as Prada, Louis Vuitton
and Gucci, along with fine restaurants, cafes and - surprise
- the planet's most elegant McDonalds.
If
high-end shopping isn't on your agenda, then the Galleria's
mozaic floor alone is worth the trip.
While here, ensure
your good fortune by indulging in an old Milanese tradition
- digging in your heel and taking
three "spins" around the bull (pictured). You'll
know exactly where to find it by the well-worn spot over
its testicles!
A
Galleria fit for a king
When it first opened in 1878, the Galleria was officially
named for King Vittorio Emanuele II, the first royal ruler
of a united Italy.
Today,
Milan's Galleria is the prototype for shopping malls worldwide
and still manages to outperform
its imitators in Old World elegance and grandeur enclosed
under a 96-foot high glass arcade.
Take
the virtual tour
On
a more practical note, the Galleria's location is as convenient
as ever. Look for the main entrance near the city's famous
Duomo (cathedral) as the complex wends its way back for
two city blocks ending near La Scala ...
